"Bats" Letter of the Week

Our theme this week is bats.

We will be studying different species of bats and their varying diets.

Over 1,000 bat species can be found worldwide.

Bats are the only mammals that can fly.

Bats are very beneficial because they eat so many insects.

A single little brown bat can eat up to 1,000 mosquitoes in a single hour.

Large bats that eat fruit are pollinators and spread fruit tree seeds.

We will learn numbers 0, 1, 2, and 3.

Our song is “Bats”.

During the day bats sleep upside down.  They use their feet to hang around.

Bats wake up and come out at night. They fly around and eat bugs that bite. (CHOMP! CHOMP!)

They use their wings to swoop down low.  Then AWAY THEY GO! ©Jen Jones
