Free Apps for Speech Therapy
1.) Search Autism iHelp free apps.
These apps are great for beginning concepts for Pre Kindergarten to First Grade with any language delays, not just autism.. They help with vocabulary and language skills. You will be able to use a portion of the app for free. Some will only give you access to 6 or 8 items, but it is still good for short attention spans.
a. Wh Questions – Practices answering questions
b. Opposites – 8 pairs of opposite concepts. Good for vocabulary and understanding of opposites.
c. Concepts – Only 6 questions, but good for following directions and teaching beginning concetps.
d. Comprehenion – another nice language app.
2.) Search Super Duper Publications free apps
These apps are nice for ages Kindergarten and up with language and vocabulary delays. They offer core curriculum vocabulary for specific grade levels, some grammar practice and general vocabulary.
a. Core Curriculum Vocabulary Cards apps. – Partial access to the app that teachers grade level vocabulary for Pre-K, first and 3rd grade. You will find some of this vocabulary to be above the stated grade level.
b. Let’s Name Things app – many items for listing categories.
c. I and Me Fun Deck app – many items for identifying correct use of ‘I’ and ‘Me’
d. “wh” Questions Cards app – practice answering questions.
